The central government collected approximately 7.08 trillion yuan in fiscal revenue during the period—down by 1.2 per cent YoY, and local governments collected 9.3 trillion yuan—up by 1.8 per cent YoY.

The tax revenue was 13.27 trillion yuan—up by 0.7 per cent YoY, while the non-tax revenue fell by 0.4 per cent YoY to 3.12 trillion yuan.

The fiscal expenditure expanded by 3.1 per cent YoY to 20.8 trillion yuan during the period. The central government’s fiscal expenditure rose by 7.3 per cent YoY, and there was a 2.4 per cent YoY rise in expenditure by local governments, a state-controlled news agency reported.
