Leading teams from around the world battle it out for supremacy at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States. The latest edition of the marquee club tournament ushers in a new era in club football history as it expands to 32 teams. The FIFA Club World Cup, which had its inaugural edition in 2000, will transform from a seven-team annual tourney to one of the most prominent competitions in the global football scene, played quadrennially.

Mirroring the traditional format for the 32-team FIFA World Cup, the tournament will have four groups of eight sides each, followed by the knockout stage. The FIFA Club World Cup kicks off on June 14in Miami with the opening game between Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami and Egypt’s Al Ahly at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, Florida. It concludes on July 13 in New Jersey with the winner set to receive USD 1 billion in prize money.

Which Teams Have Qualified For the FIFA World Cup?

Teams qualified for the upcoming edition of the FIFA Club World Cup based on performances of the last four seasons in their respective continental tournaments. UEFA, CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, CAF, AFC, and OFC are the six federations represented at the event.

The teams that have qualified from different regions are:

UEFA (Europe) – 12 teams – Chelsea, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund, Inter, Atlético de Madrid, Juventus, Porto, Benfica, and Salzburg.

CONMEBOL (South America) – 6 teams – Flamengo, Fluminense, Botafogo, Palmeiras, River Plate and Boca Juniors.

AFC (Asia) – 4 teams – Al-Hilal, Urawa Red Diamonds, Al Ain and Ulsan HD.

CAF (Africa) – 4 teams – Al Ahly, Wydad AC, Espérance de Tunis and Mamelodi Sundowns.

CONCACAF (North America) – 5 teams (includingHost) – Monterrey, Seattle Sounders FC, Pachuca, Los Angeles FC, Inter Miami.

OFC (Oceania) – 1 team – Auckland City

Which Stadiums Will Host The FIFA Club World Cup?

12 stadiums across the United States of America will play host to the FIFA Club World Cup matches, five of which will also host games at next year’s FIFA World Cup co-hosted with Canada and Mexico. The MetLife Stadium (New Jersey), Mercedes-Benz Stadium (Atlanta), Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia), Lumen Field (Seattle) and Hard Rock Stadium (Miami Gardens) will be hosting the matches alongside venues in Charlotte, Cincinnati, Nashville, Washington, Orlando (two stadiums), Los Angeles and Seattle.

Al-Nassr’s failure to qualify from Saudi Arabia robbed the fans of a chance to witness the legendary Cristiano Ronaldo at the FIFA Club World Cup but the tournament won’t be short of star attractions. Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, Luis Suárez, Kylian Mbappé, Vinicius Junior, Jude Bellingham, Edinson Cavani, Ousmane Dembélé, Desire Doué, Julian Álvarez, Antoine Griezmann, Erling Haaland, Harry Kane, Lautaro Martínez, Cole Palmer, Serhou Guirassy, Salem Al Dawsari and Hussein El Shahat are some of the superstars expected to shine at the event.
