The Defender Octa and Range Rover are built for completely different purposes.
My uncle is confused whether to buy a Defender Octa Edition One or a Range Rover. His priorities are reliability, practicality, good interior space and boot space. It should also be suitable for long and rough usage on Indian roads. Which one would you recommend, or should I consider something else altogether?

Autocar India says: Both are great products but both are very different. The Range Rover has more of a luxury feel than the Octa and offers a plush ride and incredible refinement. The Octa is a powerful beast and best enjoyed if your dad is going to drive long distances into the wilderness or on bad roads where it can really come into its own. For long drives on rough roads, the Octa is brilliant and there is nothing like it. But if your dad is mainly going to drive in town then the Range Rover makes more sense.
