Delhi Bomb Threat: Saket, Tis Hazari Courts Halt Work, CRPF Schools Targeted; Full Security Alert | India News

A fresh wave of bomb threats hit Delhi courts on Tuesday, with Patiala House Court being the latest to be targeted, just before the scheduled appearance of Jasir Bilal Wani, the NIA’s second arrest in the recent Red Fort bomb blast case. The threat, like others earlier in the day, was later declared a hoax.

The incidents have come after similar coordinated threats were received by Saket and Tis Hazari courts earlier on Tuesday, indicating the increased security alert in the capital.

The threat specifically targeted the Patiala House Court complex minutes before the accused was to be produced before the Principal Sessions Judge.

Security Deployment: The Rapid Action Force (RAF) was deployed outside the court premises.

Precautionary Measures: Stringent security arrangements were made, while the BDS and dog squads were called in for thorough scanning.

Threat Status: Eventually the threat was deemed to be a hoax and the trial was able to proceed.

Coordinated Threats Hit District Courts

The threat to Patiala House came after similar disruptive incidents at two other major district courts.

Targeted Courts: The Saket District Court, as well as the Tis Hazari Court complex, each received a bomb threat email.

Resumption of Work: Saket Bar Secretary Advocate Anil Basoya said that work at Saket remained suspended for two hours before things returned to normal.

Hoax Confirmed: Advocate Tarun Rana of the New Delhi Bar Association confirmed that threats were emailed to several district court complexes, and all were hoaxes. “Despite the alerts, the courts are functioning in a smooth manner,” he has said.

Accused Linked To Red Fort Blast Produced

The security alert at Patiala House was directly related to the high-profile court appearance of the Red Fort blast accused.

Accused: Jasir Bilal Wani alias Danish, from Qazigund, is the NIA’s second arrest in the case.

Case Context: Wani was arrested by the J&K Police along with his uncle and is connected with the Faridabad terror module bust and the deadly Red Fort blast on November 10.

Other Suspects: The Wanis are neighbours of terror module members and doctor brothers Adil Rather and Muzaffar Rather. Police had earlier arrested Adil Rather in Uttar Pradesh for pasting Jaish-e-Mohammad warning posters. Muzaffar is believed to be absconding.
