Delhi CM Shri school admissions process begins today.
The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) has opened online registration for admission to Classes 6, 9 and 11 in Chief Minister (CM) Shri Schools for the 2026–27 academic session. Parents and students can apply for the entrance test till March 12. Only Delhi residents are eligible, and applicants must have studied in a recognised school in the capital during the 2025–26 session.
As per the department’s circular, 50 per cent of the seats will be reserved for students who passed Classes 5, 8 and 10 from government schools, while the remaining seats will be filled from other eligible candidates.
The entrance exams for Classes 6 and 9 are likely to take place in the last week of March, while the Class 11 test is scheduled for May. The department plans to complete the admission process for Classes 6 and 9 by April 30. Dates for the release of admit cards will be announced later.
Exam Pattern
The tests will be objective-type and conducted on OMR sheets. The detailed syllabus and sample OMR sheets will be uploaded on the department’s website.
The Class 6 question paper will be bilingual and carry 300 marks, with no negative marking. For Classes 9 and 11, the papers will be in English, each of 400 marks, and negative marking will apply.
CM Shri Schools are part of the Delhi government’s flagship initiative to upgrade government school infrastructure and learning facilities. The programme was inaugurated on February 17 by Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who also opened a new CM Shri School in Sarojini Nagar. The project will cover 75 government schools.

Separately, the Delhi government has redesigned the education department website and introduced a ‘fee review’ section. The portal now also includes features such as daily attendance tracking, mock tests and question banks to support students.
According to the website, the tab allows parents to file complaints related to school fees, track the status of their grievances and directly email the chairman of the Fee Review Committee.
The panel comprises Justice Anil Dev Singh, former Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, as chairman, chartered accountant JS Kochar and former additional director of education RK Sharma as members.
