Bangladesh expects to resolve pending issues with India through dialogue, Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed said after meeting Indian High Commissioner Pranay Verma.
Dhaka called for ties based on mutual respect and sovereign equality and sought fuller reopening of Indian consular services while enhancing trade and co-operation and border stability.
The minister stressed the need to prevent border killings.
India had not fully resumed operations after its consulates and visa offices came under attack over the past one and a half years, Salahuddin said, assuring a gradual reopening.
The meeting also discussed boosting trade and strengthening overall bilateral co-operation.
