The loss was head coach Thomas Tuchel’s first defeat at the helm of the Three Lions since taking over.

“We need to see the players under these kinds of conditions against one of the top 20 teams in the world to be smarter,” the German said.

“We don’t go next week to the World Cup. We go in one year,” the England gaffer added.

“Not good enough. We had moments, but with and without the ball things aren’t clicking, we’re not finding the right tempo,” Kane said reflecting on the defeat.

“We’ve lost that aggressive nature that we had,” the English skipper added.

“We’re not going to panic but we know we need to be better,” said the Bayern Munich forward.

“New ideas, there’s new players coming into the team that don’t have experience at international level. It’s a mixture of things but no excuses,” the 31-year-old continued.
