The berths in the first knockout round of the revamped edition of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 have been etched in stone as the event in the United States of America gears up for the enticing Round of 16 action.
Inter Milan, Fluminense, Manchester City, Al Hilal, Palmeiras, Botafogo, Benfica, Chelsea, PSG, Inter Miami, Flamengo, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and Monterry are the teams that made it to the knockout stages of the tournament at the conclusion of an entertaining Group stage contested by 32 sides from across the globe.
The fixture between Spanish giants Real Madrid and Italian heavyweights Juventus is the top-billed game in the Ro16, while Inter Miami star and World Cup winner Lionel Messi is set to take on his former side PSG on American soil.
Messi, who had to endure a turbulent time in the Parisian city during his tenure with the Ligue 1 champions after his exit from C Barcelona, helped the MLS side finish second in their group and qualify alongside Palmeiras. UEFA Champions League winner PSG, who topped their group B with 6 points from their three outings, will look to assert their dominance under the tutelage of Luis Enrique.
Palmeiras, who finished atop Group A will take on Botafogo in an all-Brazilian affair, while Group C toppers will clash against English side Chelsea. German champions Bayern Munich face off against Group D toppers Flamengo, while Inter Milan, Group E toppers, will square up against the Brzil’s Fluminese.
Mexican outfit Monterry will take on German outfit Borussia Dortmund, who ended atop Group F with seven points to their name, and Pep Guardiola’s Man City take on Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal, who finished behind Real Madird in Group F.
