The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is considered as one of the most important exams for securing admissions into the Indian Institute Of Technology (IITs) and other premier institutions. However, recently ITTs now offer various courses and programmes that students can opt for without JEE scores.

Many of these courses focus on fast-growing, high-demand fields like data science, AI, robotics, biotechnology, and programming. This makes world-class IIT education accessible to a broader audience, including working professionals and students from non-engineering backgrounds.

Executive Programme In Robotics (IIT Delhi): IIT Delhi is now accepting applications for the third edition of its Executive Programme in Robotics, a five-month online course tailored for working professionals. Starting March 14, the programme offers deep insights into robotics, with hands-on exposure to AI and machine learning applications. Weekend sessions run from 10 am to 2 pm, making it convenient for professionals to learn without disrupting their work. Eligible candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks. The fee is Rs 1.69 lakh plus taxes, covering modules on robotics evolution, industry demands, technological challenges, and emerging trends in the field. (Image: Wikimedia Commons)

Genetic Engineering And Applications (IIT Guwahati): IIT Guwahati, via NPTEL, offers a course on Genetic Engineering and Applications, led by Dr. Utpal Bora. The programme introduces learners to key concepts in genetic engineering and modern molecular biology techniques. Students study gene structure and regulation, cloning, recombinant DNA technology, and gene therapy. Designed for undergraduate and postgraduate biotechnology and life sciences students, the course bridges theory and practical applications, equipping learners for careers in genetics, biomedical research, and related fields. Engineering Mathematics (IIT Kharagpur): IIT Kharagpur offers a self-paced online Engineering Mathematics course, led by Prof. Jitendra Kumar, designed to strengthen students’ mathematical foundations. The programme covers key topics for science and engineering, including calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. Learners explore Taylor series, mean value theorems, multiple integrals, vector spaces, eigenvalues, and eigenvectors. Ideal for students preparing for advanced studies or aiming to boost analytical skills, especially those who did not follow the traditional JEE route.(Image: Wikimedia Commons)

Thermodynamics (IIT Madras): IIT Madras offers a comprehensive NPTEL course on Thermodynamics, tailored for students in biotechnology and related fields. Led by Prof. G. K. Suraishkumar, the course covers classical thermodynamics principles. Participants explore energy systems, entropy, thermodynamic laws, and material properties. Combining theory with real-world applications, it equips undergraduate and postgraduate students to deepen their understanding of thermal sciences. (Image: Wikimedia Commons)

Python Programming (IIT Bombay): IIT Bombay offers a Python Programming course on the Swayam platform, designed for high school and college students in computer science and IT. The programme includes 24 tutorials that take beginners through Python fundamentals. (Image: Wikimedia Commons)
