The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the exam date for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) December 2025 today, November 12, 2025. It will be conducted on January 17, 2026. Candidates interested in taking the exam can visit the official website, natboard.edu.in, to view the notification and check the exam date.

The application forms for the NBEMS FMGE December 2025 exams will be available from November 14, 2025, at 3 PM. The deadline to apply is December 4, up to 11:55 PM.

“National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) shall conduct the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination(FMGE) – December 2025 on 17th January 2026 on computer-based platform at various examination centers across the country,” states the official notice. The result will be declared by February 17, 2026.

Students with an MBBS degree from a foreign university, including Indian students, must pass this exam to be eligible to practice medicine in India.

FMGE December 2025: Steps To Apply

Step 1: Visit the official website of NBE: natboard.edu.in.

Step 2: Go to the ‘FMGE December 2025’ application link on the homepage.

Step 3: Register using your details and create login credentials.

Step 4: Fill in the application form with personal, academic, and qualification details.

Step 5: Upload the required documents (passport, MBBS degree, ID proof, etc.).

Step 6: Pay the application fee online.

Step 7: Submit the form and download a copy for future reference.

Indian candidates or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) must possess a basic medical degree recognized by the relevant Indian Embassy before they can be registered as medical doctors in the country where their degree was awarded. The FMGE is a screening test for individuals seeking provisional or permanent licenses to practice medicine in India, issued by the Medical Council of India or state medical councils.

The exam comprises two parts, each with 150 questions, totalling 300 multiple-choice questions. To pass, candidates must score at least 150 out of 300. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers.
