However, I once made apple juice from scratch when I first started experimenting with cooking. My expectations were low because I thought it might be too thick or not as smooth as ones from the store. But when I took my first sip, I was surprised. It tasted naturally sweet and fresh, unlike anything I had ever bought. From then, I started experimenting in the kitchen more.

Apple Juice Ingredients

Apples: The main ingredient in homemade apple juice is apples. Make use of fresh, ripe apples for the best taste. It’s important to have both sour and sweet varieties.
Water: Supports extracting juice and lets you adjust consistency.
Sweetener (Optional): To get the perfect sweetness level, a small amount of honey, sugar, or maple syrup can be added, even though apples are naturally sweet.
Lemon juice: It keeps the juice from oxidizing and adds a little acidity.
Cinnamon (Optional): To add depth and warmth to your juice, add a cinnamon stick or a pinch of ground cinnamon.

How I Make Apple Juice (Easy Method)
Pre-Prep: Wash the apples thoroughly to remove any dirt or pesticides. Although it’s not required, keeping the skin on enhances their flavor and nutritional content.
Making the Sauce: Cut the apples into small pieces and add them to a pot with water to make the sauce. Simmer them until they become mushy and tender and their natural juices are released.
Cooking the Juice: Make sure the apples are smooth before puréeing them to cook the juice. Cheesecloth or a fine-mesh strainer can be used to filter the mixture in order to remove the pulp and extract the pure juice.
Last Touch: Include lemon juice and sugar if needed. The juice can be served fresh over ice or cooled for later use.
Hacks for Making the Best Apple Juice
- Pick the Correct Apples: A balanced combination of sour and sweet flavors is
necessary for a tasty apple juice. - No Peeling Needed: Leave the skins on since they add nutrients and flavor.
Peeling is not necessary. Thoroughly wash the apples well before using. - Strain for a Smooth Finish: Use cheesecloth or a fine mesh strainer to get rid
of any pulp and have a clear, smooth juice. - Store It Carefully: You can preserve fresh apple juice in the refrigerator for up to
three days. - Longer Use: Freeze it in ice cube trays and defrost it whenever needed if you
want to preserve it longer. - Enhance the Flavor: You can add a cinnamon stick, a few cloves, or a splash of
lemon juice to your juice to give it a warm, aromatic flavor.
