Over the past few days, Honda has been on a roll with some exciting, large-capacity launches and the company has no intention of slowing down. Our sources have indicated that the CB750 Hornet naked bike is slated to launch soon, with an expected price tag around the Rs 9 lakh mark (ex-showroom).

CB750 Hornet will likely be priced similarly to CB650R
The CB750 Hornet is the street friendly sibling of the XL750 Transalp ADV sold in India. Both share the same 755cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine making 92hp at 9500rpm and 75Nm at 7250rpm. With these sort of performance claims, the CB750 Hornet will sit pretty much in a class of its own. In fact, its closest competition will come from within the Honda fold, in the form of the inline-four CB650R naked bike.
The Hornet 750 is decently well-equipped for a machine in its class with four riding modes (Sport, Standard, Rain and User), a slip/assist clutch, switchable traction control, all-LED lighting and a Bluetooth-compatible TFT display. There is also an accessory bidirectional quickshifter available for the Hornet 750.
Our sources have indicated that the CB750 Hornet will be brought in as a CBU and positioned between Rs 8.80 lakh – Rs 9.20 lakh (ex-showroom) placing it quite close to the CB650R. Recently, there has been a lull of approachable middleweight naked bikes in India in the 600-900cc segment in India and when the CB750 Hornet comes here, it will be one of few twin-cylinder offerings in this class. On paper, the Hornet 750 is a rather close rival to the Aprilia Tuono 660, but the middleweight Tuono’s pricing – Rs 17.44 lakh (ex-showroom, India) – puts it in the ballpark of litre-class machines.
