Honda X ADV vs BMW C 400 GT: price and specifications compared

The X-ADV costs Rs 40,000 more than the C 400 GT but also has more power and an extra cylinder.

Honda has launched the X-ADV in India, and unlike any other maxi-scooter in the market, it brings a unique blend of adventure and practicality. Its price puts it in direct competition with the BMW C 400 GT. Here’s how these two maxi-scooters stack up.

The Honda gets a much larger, 745cc parallel-twin engine

Right off the bat, the X-ADV has a substantial edge thanks to its larger 745cc twin-cylinder engine, which produces almost double the power and torque compared to the BMW. The Honda’s twin-cylinder setup may also offer a smoother experience overall. Unlike the BMW, which uses a CVT like most traditional scooters, the Honda features a 6-speed DCT gearbox.

At this price point, both scooters are far from practical; they’re indulgent purchases through and through. At Rs 11.90 lakh, the X-ADV costs Rs 40,000 more. For those extra bucks, Honda offers a larger, more powerful engine and an extra cylinder, but it also brings added weight and a significantly taller seat height. What tips the scales in BMW’s favour ever so slightly is its strong brand recall and aspirational badge value.
