Washim: A man brutally murdered his wife with a sharp weapon at Kothari village in Mangrulpir taluka of Washim district before hanging himself on Monday. The deceased woman was identified as Kalpana Ghongade, and her husband as Himmat Ghongade.Both worked as labourers to earn a living. According to sources, Himmat had been showing signs of irritability and aggression following frequent domestic quarrels. On Monday, his brother brought an autorickshaw to take him to the hospital for treatment.However, Himmat resisted, leading to an argument. When Kalpana tried to persuade him to go for treatment, he grew further enraged. In a fit of rage, he attacked her with a sharp weapon, striking her on the neck and head. Kalpana died on the spot.After murdering his wife, Himmat hanged himself inside the house.
