517 B.Tech. students graduated from IIIT Delhi this year.
The Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Delhi celebrated its 14th Convocation by awarding degrees to 780 graduates across UG, PG, and doctoral programmes. This included 517 B.Tech. graduates, 226 M.Tech. students, including three M.Tech. dual-degree holders, and 34 Ph.D. students.
BTech students Arnav Agarwal and Nalish Jain won the Chancellor’s Gold Medal, while MTech student Puneet Kumar received the Gold Medal for Excellent Academic Performance.
The Chancellor, Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Vinai Kumar Saxena, congratulated the students and commended the educators, parents, mentors, friends, and supporters who stood by them throughout their journey.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Anand Deshpande, Founder and Chairman of Persistent Systems, remarked that IIIT Delhi’s well-trained and enthusiastic young graduates would play a crucial role in reshaping technology and engineering as India progresses towards sustained growth, essential for realising Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Swavalambi and Vikasit Bharat.
Prof. Ranjan Bose, Director of IIIT-Delhi, stated, “The experiences you carry from here will shape how you navigate the challenges of tomorrow. As you step into a world that needs your talent, courage, and compassion, choose paths that excite your intellectual passions, ignite your creativity, and channel your abilities productively. At IIIT-Delhi, we have taught you to treat challenges as opportunities – opportunities to think differently, learn from mistakes, and realize your true potential. Be the leader, the innovator, and the change-maker, but always lean on kindness and compassion.”
Prof. Rajesh Srivastava, Chairman of the Board of Governors, remarked, “IIIT-Delhi continues to embody the spirit of innovation, excellence, and social impact envisioned at its inception. As we celebrate our 14th Convocation, it is heartening to see the Institute’s remarkable progress in education, research, and entrepreneurship, from pioneering interdisciplinary programs to cutting-edge collaborations that address real-world challenges. Our graduates carry not only the knowledge but also the responsibility to make technology more humane and impactful.
