The Indian Olympic Association has already submitted its Expression of Interest to host the 2036 Olympics.

The 2036 Olympics Bid Committee will be formed soon.
New International Olympic Committee (IOC) President Kirsty Coventry has announced that the entire Olympic host selection process is being paused and a working group is being established to determine the “appropriate time” to identify a future host.
However, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) CEO Raghuram Iyer mentioned that they have been in contact with the IOC despite the “pause” in the whole process.
The IOA has already submitted its Expression of Interest to host the 2036 Olympics.
“We are in continuous dialogue, meaning that today I can pick up the phone and ask the IOC if there are any doubts. They (IOC) can call us and check on certain things. They have decided to pause and reflect. They are trying to figure out how they want to approach the idea of allotting the Olympics. They want to re-examine it,” Iyer said.
“When we met them, it was like a workshop on what we need to do, with a lot of focus on sustainability, diversity, equal opportunity, and more women participating. There is a lot of discussion on all these topics,” he added.
When asked when a 2036 Olympics Bid Committee will be formed, he said, “I think everything will be formed now. There are only certain contours of the committee. You will hear about it soon.”
2030 CWG Will Be Tech-Driven
The IOA General Body unanimously approved India’s bid for the 2030 CWG, with the country emerging as a favourite to host the event.
Iyer stated that if India secures the hosting rights, they will ensure the event is technology-driven, incorporating Artificial Intelligence.
“The focus for the Commonwealth Sport (formerly CGF) and for us is also on sustainability, and the legacy of the Games will benefit the host city and the country. The 2030 CWG will be technology-driven with a strong emphasis on incorporating AI,” he said.
