Jaguar Type 00 concept: what is it?

Previews not just a model but a whole new identity for Jaguar

The Type 00 doesn’t just preview a specific model, but it is a vision of what the new Jaguar brand and its products would look like. The two zeros signify zero emissions and a complete reset, implying an all-new direction for the brand in the electrification age.

The model to be showcased in India comes finished in this vibrant blue shade.

Jaguar has already started testing prototypes of a 4-door electric GT in the UK, which will be the first model in this new range of EVs. Images of the camouflaged prototypes show an elongated bonnet with a rear-set cabin and a swooping coupe-like roofline with a small, flat-deck boot lid. It also sports a very upright nose, has large tyres and is very long.

The production car will debut a new underpinning called Jaguar Electric Architecture (JEA). So far, not much has been revealed about it other than a targeted range of 770km on the WLTP cycle and the ability to top-up up to 321km driving range in 15 minutes.

Jaguar new electric GT launch details

India launch by late 2026 or early 2027

The production car is all set for a launch towards the end of 2025 and will roll out to markets in a phased manner. The first phase would cover countries such as the UK and the US. India launch would fall in phase two, which would be towards the end of 2026 or early 2027.

First model will be a 4-door electric GT; prototypes already being tested abroad.

The 4-door GT would be positioned at the high end of the spectrum in Jaguar’s new line-up. It will be more of a brand shaper, following which there will be more affordable EVs as well.
