England fast bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the upcoming three match One-Day International series against West Indies starting May 29 at Edgbaston due to a right thumb injury. Luke Wood has been named as his replacement in the ODI squad.The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) issued a statement regarding Archer‘s injury status: “England Men’s and Sussex pace bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the Metro Bank ODI series against the West Indies due to a right thumb injury. He will be reassessed by the England medical team over the next fortnight to determine when he may return to action.”Prior to this injury setback, Archer had recently participated in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he represented Rajasthan Royals. During his IPL stint, he claimed 11 wickets across 12 matches for the franchise.The upcoming series between England and West Indies features three ODIs followed by three T20 Internationals.
