Hours after her private letter to KCR surfaced, creating a political storm in Telangana, MLC K Kavitha on Friday questioned how the letter to her father, who is also the BRS chief, was leaked in public. She claimed that while KCR was “god”, he was surrounded by “demons” who were damaging the party from within.
Calling the leak a “conspiracy”, she said that in the letter she had only expressed in words what others in the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) and the state think.
K Kavitha’s Letter Controversy
Her remarks came after a six-page letter dated May 2 surfaced, in which she expressed deep frustration with the party leadership’s strategy. In the letter, she had accused her father of barely criticising the BJP during the party’s 25th Foundation Day meeting in Warangal. The personal letter was written after the Warangal public meeting and was never meant for public circulation.
Speaking to reporters upon her return from the US, she said that the letter was made public while she was attending her son’s graduation in America.
“Two weeks ago, I wrote a letter to KCR. In the past, I have expressed my opinions to KCR many times through letters. I recently said that conspiracies and machinations are going on. Now that the letter has been made public, everyone in the party needs to think about what is happening. I have said what people at all levels in the party think, almost half of the people of Telangana think. I have no personal agenda in this. I personally have no hatred or love for anyone,” she said.
Kavitha Says ‘KCR Surrounded By Demons’
She stressed there is a need to investigate who is behind the leak of her personal letter and claimed that there are “demons” in the party who are harming it from within.
“If the letter written to our party leader has been made public, who is behind it? Need to think about it. KCR is God. But there are demons around KCR… They are causing damage. If the letter written by me, KCR’s daughter, has come out, what is the condition of other common people in the party? This needs to be discussed,” she said.
She also made it clear that KCR will remain their leader and said that Telangana will prosper under his leadership.
“If we discuss and correct the minor flaws in the party and move forward, the party will be cool for ten terms. The Congress and the BJP parties have failed… KCR’s leadership is the alternative to them,” she said.
Letter Stirred Political Debate
The Congress party has used Kavitha’s letter to draw attention to problems within the BRS and its supposed connection with the BJP. Even though KCR hasn’t said anything officially, the letter has led to talk about Kavitha’s next moves—whether she might break away, start a new party, or try to change things from within.
The letter has sparked a new political debate, with opposition leaders using it to support their long-time claims against the BRS. Congress MLA Adi Srinivas said the letter proves what the Congress has been saying—that BRS and BJP are secretly working together and that there are clear cracks within the ruling party.
The letter came at a time when her brother, KT Rama Rao, was stepping up to lead the BRS as its working president, while their father, KCR, seemed content to step back from an active role.
