Up until now, the Carens Clavis EV was available as a 7-seater only, even though its ICE counterpart – the Carens Clavis – offered a 6-seat layout. With this 2026 update, the electric MPV is now on par with its ICE sibling thanks to the addition of a 6-seat configuration with second-row captain seats across most Carens Clavis EV variants. There is no difference in pricing between the 6-seater and 7-seater versions of the Carens Clavis EV.

New GT-Line and X-Line variants have also joined the 2026 Carens Clavis EV line-up. They offer cosmetic upgrades, albeit only for the 51.4kWh versions of the Kia MPV. The Carens Clavis GT-Line includes new alloy wheel designs, lime green brake calipers, and metal pedals, while the X-Line package can be had in either an exclusive Dark Gun Metal colour, or the existing Aurora Black Pearl shade.

Both cosmetic packages command a Rs 50,000 premium over the respective variants they’re based on – GTX is based on the Carens Clavis EV HTX 51.4kWh, while the GTX+ and X-Line are based on the HTX+ 51.4kWh variant.

New features

In addition to the styling upgrades, the GTX+ and X-Line variants come equipped with a digital key and battery heating function over the features included in the top-spec Carens Clavis EV HTX+ 51.4kWh. Lastly, the MPV’s Standard Range (42kWh) variants get new 16-inch black aero-optimised alloy wheels.
