The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the exam city intimation slip for the KVS and NVS Recruitment examination 2025. Candidates who applied for the teaching and non-teaching posts in Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti can download the exam city slip by visiting the official websites — cbse.gov.in, kvsangathan.nic.in, and navodaya.gov.in.
The Tier 1 exam is scheduled over two days in January 2026. On January 10, the morning shift from 9.30 am to 11.30 am will be conducted for the positions of Primary Teacher, Junior Secretariat Assistant, and Lab Attendant. The exam will last two hours. That same afternoon, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, the test for Multi-Tasking Staff roles in the headquarters and regional offices will take place. This exam will also have a duration of two hours.
On January 11, 2026, the morning shift from 9.30 am to 11.30 am will be for the posts of Assistant Commissioner, Principal, Vice Principal, and Post Graduate Teacher. The afternoon shift, from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm, will cover Trained Graduate Teacher and miscellaneous teacher posts, as well as Librarian, Administrative Officer, Finance Officer, Junior Translator, Assistant Engineer, Assistant Section Officer, Senior Secretariat Assistant, Stenographer Grade One, and Stenographer Grade Two positions.

This joint recruitment drive aims to fill 14,967 vacancies across both organisations. The positions include Assistant Commissioner, Principal, Vice Principal, Post Graduate Teachers (PGT), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGT), Librarians, Primary Teachers (PRT), and various non-teaching roles. The detailed vacancy breakdown includes 8 posts for Assistant Commissioner, 9 for Assistant Commissioner (Academics), 227 Principal posts, 58 Vice Principal posts, 2,996 PGT posts, 6,215 TGT posts, 147 Librarian posts, 3,365 PRT posts, and 1,942 non-teaching posts.
Candidates who pass the tier-1 exam will progress to the tier-2 exam. The final merit list will be compiled by attributing 85 per cent weightage to Tier-2 marks and 15 per cent to interview scores.
