Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James tied the NBA record for the most regular-season games played as his team faced the Miami Heat on Thursday.

James played his 1,611th regular-season game, matching Hall of Famer Robert Parish’s record. He can set a new record when the Lakers visit Orlando on Saturday.

In his unprecedented 23rd season, James already holds numerous NBA records, including points scored, field goals made, and field goals attempted.

This latest milestone occurs in a return to Miami, where he spent four seasons and won the first two of his four NBA titles.

The 41-year-old is coming off a stellar performance, scoring 30 points on 13-of-14 shooting in the Lakers’ victory over Houston on Wednesday.

Despite arriving in Miami early Thursday morning, James, initially listed as “questionable” due to injury, was confirmed as available to play.

The Lakers have won seven consecutive games, climbing from sixth to third in the Western Conference standings.
