Mahindra flex fuel engine details
E30 fuel requires engines to be upgraded
As the Indian government explores options to increase the ethanol blend in petrol to 30 percent (E30) by 2030, Mahindra is readying itself to offer engines that would be compatible with the fuel. To run on E30 and higher-rated fuels (up to 100 percent ethanol-based), the engines would require further reengineering; ethanol content sensors for real-time monitoring of ethanol concentration, along with fuel rail and injector heaters for cold starts, are among the upgrades required.
