The Mahindra Scorpio N now gets a torque converter automatic gearbox right from the one-above-base Z4 trim, which is priced at Rs 17.39 lakh for the petrol-engine variant and Rs 17.86 lakh for diesel. Earlier, this Mahindra SUV’s automatic range started with the Rs 18.91 lakh Z6 (diesel) and the Rs 19.06 lakh Z8 Select (petrol) variants. That makes the new Scorpio N Z4 AT more affordable than the former and latter trims by Rs 1.05 lakh and Rs 1.67 lakh, respectively.

The Scorpio N Z4 trim gets two engine options: mStallion 2-litre turbo-petrol and mHawk 2.2-litre diesel. The petrol engine is good for 203hp and 370Nm (6MT) / 380Nm (6AT), while the diesel pot churns out 132hp and 300Nm with both gearboxes. Do note that in the Z4, the RWD layout is standard, but one can have it with a 4WD system with the optional Z4 (E) diesel trim.

Sold only in the 7-seat configuration, the Scorpio N Z4 packs goodies like LED turn indicators, 17-inch wheels with plastic covers, a rear spoiler, an 8-inch touchscreen with wired Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering-mounted controls, second-row AC vents and fabric upholstery. In terms of safety tech, it comes equipped with front airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold and descent controls, ISOFIX child seat anchorages and 3-point seatbelts for all passengers.
