As India’s startup landscape becomes more sophisticated in 2025, this programme has emerged as one of the most relevant choices for students who don’t want to wait for seniority or climb the corporate ladder. Instead, the IEV appeals to those who dream of founding companies, joining early-stage teams, or working closely with startup founders in roles that demand agility and sharp thinking.
The Rise Of New-Age Startup Roles
Aspiring entrepreneurs who have ideas but need structure, early founders who are already building but want to sharpen their skills, and students who want to work in roles like Chief of Staff or in a Founder’s Office, all find this programme a strong fit. India’s ecosystem has matured enough to offer these opportunities widely. A decade ago, roles like Chief of Staff barely existed; today, companies like Zepto, Fampay, and Jupiter hire young professionals for high-responsibility positions that reward problem-solving, experimentation, and comfort with ambiguity, exactly the skillset that an IEV programme cultivates.
Career Pathways For IEV Graduates In 2025
Career opportunities for IEV graduates in 2025 reflect the energy of the ecosystem. Many go on to take up early leadership roles in product, growth, strategy, and operations at startups where speed and adaptability matter more than traditional experience. Founder’s Office roles, which require structured thinking and the ability to manage cross-functional projects, are now among the most coveted positions for fresh graduates. Venture capital firms and angel networks are also increasingly open to hiring those who understand how startups operate and can evaluate ideas from a founder’s perspective. Others move into ecosystem organisations such as incubators, accelerators, and state startup missions, directly supporting entrepreneurs on the ground. A significant proportion also start their own ventures, several institutions report that 20–40% of their IEV cohorts either launch startups during the programme or join young companies immediately after.
How IEV Differs From A Conventional MBA
The IEV programme works differently from a general MBA because it doesn’t revolve around case studies from global giants like Unilever or Amazon. Instead, it immerses students in the realities of brands like Minimalist, Licious, Mamaearth, and other new-age companies that have grown in India’s digital-first economy.
Practical, Execution-Focused Learning
The curriculum prioritises practical, execution-focused learning: courses on go-to-market, fundraising, zero-to-one hiring, and performance marketing are central, not optional. Students often work on live projects with startups, receiving real-time feedback, and many undertake long internships of up to six months, during which they contribute meaningfully to the growth of early-stage ventures. The faculty itself is primarily practitioners, founders, operators, investors, and product leaders, who bring hard-earned insights instead of purely academic frameworks.
Regular guest lectures from entrepreneurs who have raised funds, pivoted their companies, or even shut down ventures add to the realism. Perhaps the most valuable aspect is that students can build their own ventures while studying, supported by mentorship, resources, and exposure, ensuring they don’t lose time waiting for the “right moment.”
Choosing The Right IEV Programme
However, with more than 30 similar programmes now offered across India, choosing the right one requires careful thought. Prospective students must look at alumni outcomes, especially how many graduates have founded companies or joined startups. The quality of faculty matters too; programmes with strong practitioner involvement offer a far more grounded experience. Networking opportunities, mentorship depth, access to investors, and the relevance of live projects are other important factors. For a student serious about entrepreneurship or startup leadership, these questions help differentiate between institutions that offer real value and those that simply use the IEV label without the ecosystem to support it.
