JSW MG Motor India has opened bookings for the M9 electric MPV for a token amount of Rs 51,000. The M9 will be sold via MG’s ‘Select’ line of premium retail networks, and prospective buyers can place bookings for the luxury MPV via the official MG Select website. The M9’s launch was initially slated for March 2025, but those plans were clearly delayed. Whenever the M9 does go on sale, it’s expected to sport a price tag of around Rs 65 lakh.

MG M9 exterior design
Larger than Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire

The M9 stretches the tape at 5,200mm long, 2,000mm wide, and 1,800mm tall, with a 3,200mm wheelbase, outsizing rivals like the Kia Carnival and Toyota Vellfire. It features the slab-sided, boxy profile typical of a large MPV, with an upright nose and a large glass house. The fascia includes sleek LED strips with the main headlight units situated below, flanked by chrome trim that runs across the bumper. The M9’s rear end gets sharp connected tail-lamps that extend downwards, and there’s a roof spoiler above with an integrated brake light.

Spacious and feature-loaded cabin

Space inside is ample, and the M9 offers 7- and 8-seater layouts. Much like other luxury MPVs, the M9 comes very well-loaded. There are goodies like two sunroofs (a single-pane unit for the front and a dual-pane one for the rear), 64-colour ambient lighting, powered front and rear seats with heating, ventilation, massage functions, fold-out ottoman seats, powered rear-sliding doors, twin sunroofs, and rear entertainment screens. Level 2 ADAS is also on offer.
MG M9 battery and range
Gets 90kWh battery pack

Sold as the MG Mifa 9 in overseas markets, the M9 is equipped with 90kWh battery pack that powers a single motor on the front axle. This front-wheel drive setup develops 245hp and 350Nm, with the claimed WLTP range pegged at 430km.
