NEET PG 2025 revised schedule released: Check list of important dates here

NEET PG exam 2025: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has officially released the revised schedule for NEET-PG 2025, confirming that the entrance exam will now be held on August 3, 2025, in a single shift format. The decision follows a directive from the Supreme Court of India, which mandated the change to ensure transparency and fairness in the high-stakes medical entrance test.

Why was NEET-PG 2025 postponed?

Originally scheduled for June 15, 2025, the NEET-PG examination was postponed by the Supreme Court after it rejected NBEMS’s plan to conduct the test in two shifts. The apex court termed the two-shift proposal as “arbitrary” and underlined that question papers across different shifts can never be of equal difficulty, thus potentially disadvantaging some candidates.A bench led by Justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and Augustine George Masih directed NBEMS to ensure a level playing field by holding the exam in one shift only. Despite the NBEMS citing infrastructural and logistical challenges, like the need for 900 additional test centers, Wi-Fi, and computer security, the court remained firm, stating that a technologically capable country like India must be able to accommodate such demands.
