Hyundai has updated the Verna for 2026 with subtle styling tweaks and new interior features. Hyundai has also introduced a new trim nomenclature with this update, although mechanically the sedan remains unchanged. Let’s take a closer look at all the changes on the new Hyundai Verna compared to the outgoing model.

Subtle design updates with a revised grille and bumper
The 2026 Verna gets minor styling revisions over the outgoing model. Up front, it now features a new dark chrome grille along with revised LED headlamps. The front bumper has also been changed, with more pronounced detailing around the outer edges and the lower section. Hyundai has also introduced a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels.
At the rear, the connected tail-lamps and boot-mounted spoiler remain unchanged. However, the bumper has been redesigned and now gets silver trim along with a diffuser-style element at the bottom. Two new exterior colours: Classy Blue and Titan Grey Matte, have also been added.
Overall, the update keeps the Verna’s sharp design largely intact while adding small styling tweaks.

New steering wheel and updated instrument cluster
Inside, the Verna continues with the same overall cabin design. It continues with the dual-tone black-and-white interior, while the turbo-petrol versions retain the all-black theme. The twin 10.25-inch screens are carried over, but the digital instrument cluster now gets updated graphics. Hyundai has also introduced a new three-spoke steering wheel with the brand’s Morse Code ‘H’ logo, similar to the design seen on models like the Venue and Ioniq 5.
The Verna does not get the larger 12.3-inch screens seen on the Venue, likely because its platform does not support the newer Nvidia-based E&E architecture.

New seat functions and added safety equipment
The updated Verna adds new convenience features. These include powered front passenger seat, memory function for the driver’s seat and a boss mode for the front passenger seat, allowing rear occupants to adjust the seat forward.
Hyundai has also added a 360-degree camera and seven airbags on the top variant, compared to six earlier, which is a segment-first among its rivals.

Powertrain options remain unchanged
Mechanically, the Verna remains the same as before. It continues with the 115hp, 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 160hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox, while the NA engine also gets a CVT option and the turbo-petrol offers a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Prices have increased slightly with the update
The updated Verna is priced between Rs 10.98 lakh and Rs 18.25 lakh (ex-showroom). With the update, the base variant is Rs 18,000 more expensive, while the top variant costs around Rs 1.1 lakh more than before.
Hyundai has also revised the variant nomenclature to HX2, HX4, HX6, HX6+, HX8 and HX10, bringing it in line with the new Venue.
