The opposition Congress in Odisha alleged on Friday that the question paper for the Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) examination was leaked three hours before the test. Party MLA CS Raazen Ekka raised this issue through a point of order in the Assembly during a discussion on unemployment, reported PTI.
“It has come to our notice that the question paper for the ANM examination was leaked at 11 am, ahead of the 2 pm written test,” Ekka informed the House.
He mentioned that the alleged leak occurred in the Malkangiri and Bolangir districts, where second-year students were set to take the exam.

Following the revelation, the state’s Director of Medical Education and Training (DMET), Prof. Santosh Mishra, informed PTI that the examination had been cancelled.
What Is The Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery (ANM) Exam?
The nursing profession demands a high level of specialisation and understanding. Students who have completed their 12th grade in Arts can enroll in Auxiliary Nursing Midwife (ANM) and General Nursing Midwife (GNM) Diploma courses. The Indian Nursing Council is the regulatory body overseeing nurses and nursing education in India, and it also sets the standards for ANM and GNM Nursing Diploma programmes.
ANM nurses and midwives complete a two-year diploma course, which includes a mandatory six-month internship. The annual fee for an ANM course ranges from approximately Rs 10,000 to Rs 60,000. If you are interested in pursuing an ANM nursing course, it’s essential to know the qualifications and age requirements.
To be eligible for the ANM course, a student must be at least 17 years old by December 31, with the maximum age limit being 35 years. Admission requires passing the class 12 Arts with English. Students who have passed the class 12 Arts and Science examinations conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling are also eligible.
