Odisha Police CPSE 2024 exam postponed; fresh dates to be announced soon.
The Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) has postponed the Combined Police Service Examination (CPSE) 2024, which was scheduled to be conducted on October 5 and 6, 2025. As per multiple media reports, the board decided to delay the CPSE Exam 2024 due to “some unforeseen development.”
“In view of some unforeseen development, the Board decided to postpone the Written Examination CPSE-2024, which was earlier scheduled to be held on 05.10.2025 & 06.10.2025. Fresh date will be announced later,” a report by news agency PTI said, quoting a statement by the board.
The report also highlighted that this is the third time the OPRB has postponed the examination. While the board did not mention a specific reason for the postponements, sources told PTI that the decision may have been taken after irregularities were detected.
Earlier, the board had released the OPRB SI Admit Card 2025 on its official website at odishapolice.gov.in, allowing candidates to download their hall tickets for the examination.
The board has assured candidates that the fresh exam dates will be announced soon, and applicants are advised to keep checking the official website for updates.
About The Exam
The Combined Police Service Examination (CPSE) 2024 is conducted by the Odisha Police Recruitment Board (OPRB) to recruit eligible candidates for various police positions, including Sub-Inspector (SI) and other ranks, in the state police force.
The exam typically tests candidates on General Knowledge, Reasoning, Numerical Ability, and English through a written test, followed by physical efficiency tests, interviews, and medical examinations.
The recruitment aims to fill vacancies in Odisha Police, ensuring that the selected candidates meet the physical, educational, and professional standards required for law enforcement roles.
Candidates must be Indian citizens, meet the age criteria specified in the notification, and possess the required educational qualifications, usually Class 12 or equivalent, along with any additional skills like physical fitness or typing, depending on the post.
