Longstaff, older brother of fellow Magpie Matty, joined the Newcastle youth academy as a 9-year-old in the year 2006 and made his first appearance for the Toon Army in the year 2016. The midfielder went on to make over 200 appearances for the club and was part of the EFL Cup winning side helmed by English head coach Eddie Howe.
