The first exam of the year will be held in January, and will continue until the last week of December.
RPSC Exam Calendar 2026
After a gap of nearly six years, the RPSC has once again embraced technology. To reduce complaints of paper leaks and rigging in the recruitment exams, the Commission is now shifting to online mode. This will ensure transparency in the examination.
The first examination will be held on January 11, 2026, for the post of Deputy Commandant in the Home Department. The next day, on January 12, an examination will be held for the post of Lecturer in the Ayurveda Department. Screening tests for several other departments are also scheduled by the end of January.
Lecturer (Department of Ayurveda): January 12, 2026 (This will be completely online).
Assistant Electrical Inspector: February 1, 2026 (This will also be conducted on a computer).
Sub-Inspector and Platoon Commander (Home Department): This exam is scheduled to be held on April 5, 2026.
Senior Teacher (Sr. Teacher Grade II): This exam for the Secondary Education Department will be held continuously from July 12 to 18, 2026.
School Lecturer and Coach: The examinations for the School Education Department will be held between May 31 to June 16, 2026, for different subjects.
For the first time, the RPSC has designated a large number of reserve dates. April 26, May 3, November 29, December 6, and December 27 have been left vacant in the calendar. There are two main reasons behind this: first, if the government announces a new major recruitment (such as RAS or REET), exam dates will be available. Second, if an exam has to be postponed due to internet outages or other emergencies in a particular district, students will not have to wait for years, and the exam can be re-conducted on these reserved dates.
RPSC Chairman Utkal Ranjan Sahu has clarified that a gap of at least two to three months has now been established between each examination. Candidates preparing for multiple recruitment exams will have the opportunity to revise. Furthermore, ‘One-Time Registration’ (OTR) has now been made mandatory, eliminating the hassle of repeatedly filling out forms and preserving the data with the Commission.
