The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Delhi due to heavy rainfall and thunderstorms throughout the day. As a result of continuous rainfall, all government and private schools in Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) and Ghaziabad will remain closed tomorrow, September 3, 2025.
Following the order of the Gautam Buddha Nagar District Magistrate, schools will remain closed for all students from Pre-Nursery to Grade 12 on September 3, 2025 (Wednesday) due to heavy rainfall. The official order for Ghaziabad school holidays, issued under the direction of District Magistrate Ravindra Mandad and enforced by Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) O.P. Yadav, states that all schools and colleges will remain closed tomorrow to ensure the safety of students.
Incessant rain over the past 48 hours has once again led to severe waterlogging in Gurugram, causing traffic to come to a standstill and significant disruptions to daily life for residents. On Tuesday, it was reported that the Aravali dam near Kadarpur village in Sector 63 A suffered severe damage, resulting in several feet of water flooding nearby villages. Villagers stated that intense water pressure caused the dam to collapse, creating a potential flood-like situation in the area. However, no directive regarding the closure of schools for September 3 has been announced by the government yet.
Punjab Schools To Remain Closed Too
Schools in Punjab will stay closed until September 3, 2025, due to severe monsoon rains and extreme flooding. Initially, they were set to reopen on August 30, but the state administration extended the closure to ensure student safety. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains emphasized compliance with this directive and warned private schools against ignoring the order.
What About Himachal And Uttarakhand Schools?
In Himachal Pradesh, the IMD forecasts an improvement in weather conditions on September 3, following widespread school closures on September 2 due to an orange alert. Future closures will be determined by local warnings. In Uttarakhand, areas previously under red alerts, such as Nainital and Chamoli, are expected to see better weather on September 3. However, closures may still be necessary due to local waterlogging or flood impacts.
