SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam Date: After a prolonged wait, the Staff Selection Commission has finally announced the SSC CHSL Recruitment 2025 Tier 1 exam dates. The exam will commence on November 12, 2025, in the Computer-based Test mode or the CBT mode. The CHSL Tier 1 exam was initially scheduled for September 8 to 18 but was not conducted.
The Commission will also provide candidates with the option to select their preferred exam city, shift, and date. Candidates can log in to the website between October 22 and October 28 to make their selections.
Upon logging into the portal, candidates will be shown the available slots across various dates and shifts in the three cities they selected during the application process. Candidates can choose a specific shift in their preferred city on any available date. However, candidates opting to take the exam in regional languages may have fewer options for dates and shifts.
If all slots in the initially selected three cities are filled, candidates will be given a list of alternative cities where slots are available. The Commission stated it will make every effort to allocate a slot in one of these alternative cities, though specific dates and shifts may not be guaranteed.
The Commission has indicated that candidates who do not select the exam city, date, and shift within the specified time will be assumed to have no intention of appearing for the examination. Candidates have been advised to choose their exam date, city, and shift carefully, as no change requests will be entertained after allotment based on their choices.
A self-explanatory document with necessary screenshots will be made available on the portal to guide candidates through the option selection process.
SSC CHSL Tier-1 Exam Pattern
The exam comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs). General candidates have a time limit of 60 minutes, while PwD (Blind/Cerebral Palsy) candidates have 80 minutes. The SSC CHSL Tier 1 Exam covers the following subjects: English Language (Basic Knowledge) with 25 questions for 25 marks, General Intelligence with 25 questions for 25 marks, Quantitative Aptitude with 25 questions for 25 marks, and General Awareness with 25 questions for 25 marks. In total, there are 100 questions worth 100 marks.
