Tata Altroz facelift: top 5 new features

The soon-to-launch Altroz facelift packs a couple of feature upgrades, making it an even more desirable hatchback.

Tata Motors will announce the prices of its 2025 Altroz facelift on May 22. The first-generation Altroz is getting a major update after over five years since its launch, and, excluding powertrains, the premium Tata hatchback has received comprehensive exterior and interior upgrades. Keep reading to discover five new things about the Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza and Maruti Baleno rival.

An all-new 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, which replaces the 7-inch part-digital, part analogue unit, has to be the most noteworthy upgrade, though it is exclusive to the Altroz facelift’s top model. The bigger HD screen comes with map view, along with blind spot monitoring.

2. New two-spoke steering wheel

The new Altroz borrows its two-spoke steering wheel, which has a gloss-black panel and an illuminated Tata logo in the middle, from the segment-above Nexon SUV. The Smart Digital (in Tata speak) steering offers controls for cruise, audio and phone calls.

3. Connected tail-lights

While the i20 has a width-wide chrome strip bridging the tail-lights, the upcoming Altroz goes a step further with an illuminated LED light bar that links the lights and forms a ‘T’ shape. The Maruti and Toyota cars settle for a conventional pair of tail-lights.

4. Flush-type door handles with illumination

The Altroz facelift gets Tata Curvv-like flush-type door handles with illumination in place of pull-type front door handles. At the back, the Tata car will continue with C-pillar-mounted door handles.

5. 2 new colours

A total of five colours will be on offer with the Tata Altroz facelift, namely Pristine White, Pure Grey, Royal, Ember Glow and Dune Glow, the last two of which are new additions. Downtown Red paint, available with the pre-facelift model, has been discontinued.
