World Teachers’ Day, observed annually on October 5, honours the crucial role educators play in shaping the future of society. Complementing this, the 1997 Recommendation on the Status of Higher-Education Teaching Personnel extended these principles to educators in universities and other higher-education institutions. World Teachers’ Day has been officially observed since 1994.
