The Sock Street secures strategic investment from Knit World Inc


Indian direct-to-consumer sock-focused lifestyle brand The Sock Street has secured a strategic investment from Knit World Inc, closing a new funding round for an undisclosed amount at a valuation of $1 million.

“The Sock Street is not just a seed of a company, but the start of a movement that establishes socks and assumes and disrupts how everyday essentials are perceived,” said The Sock Street’s founder Shobhit Gaur in a press release. “This new funding is a testament to our team’s relentless pursuit of excellence and the growing trust our investors and customers have placed in our vision. We are excited to accelerate our journey towards making socks a global symbol of self-expression and sustainability.”

The Sock Street was founded by Shobhit Gaur and is currently led by its CEO Udit Mayor. Reporting growth since its inception, the business’ products range from pop-culture-inspired collections to sustainable fabric-based premium designs. 

“Our ambition is to take this homegrown brand to the world stage,” said The Sock Street’s CEO Udit Mayor. “This new inflow of capital means we will be doubling down on product R&D, expanding into global markets, and creating hyper-local immersive retail experiences.”

The brand plans to use its new funding to support its plan for rapid expansion as well as bolstering its omni-channel operations. “Raising funds at a $1 million valuation is a proud moment for The Sock Street,” said the business’ CBO Saurabh Srivastava. “This milestone is not just about capital- it’s about the confidence our investors have in our vision. The funds will help us strengthen our supply chain, expand our footprint into global markets, and accelerate our journey towards introducing more sustainable, performance-driven products. We’re committed to building a brand that stands for comfort, innovation, and responsibility.”

The Sock Street’s main customer base is Gen Z and millennials. In order to boost its distribution network, the label is gearing up to open 500 dark stores across India.
