‘This is my first really expensive buy…I gave all the money away for this dress’: Inside Kangana Ranaut’s wardrobe | Fashion News

When Kangana Ranaut opened up her wardrobe, the viewers could tell her unmistakable flair for making fashion personal.

She kicked things off with her Burberry overcoat, a London find. “This is a very big overcoat. I wear it with skinny pants or a shirt, with a low bun and big shades.” That effortless pairing speaks volumes of Kangana’s ability to blend power dressing with casual cool.

But it was her Tom Ford dress that really stood out. “It is actually one of my favourites, and it got so popular that it’s a pity that I can’t wear it again. What makes it very special is that Beyoncé bought it too,” Kangana shared with Vogue. She first picked it up in Paris, almost unsure of herself. “I was so sure that this is not me and I can never pull this off, but the salesperson insisted that I try it on — and I wore it for Christmas, then again for the Queen’s success party.”

Kangana’s love for Dior also came through when she reminisced about her 25th birthday. “At that party, I actually wanted to look like a birthday girl. This completely fulfilled that desire.”

A fun peek into her film wardrobe? Her H&M shoes, which look a little worn now but hold exceptional value. “I wore them for Queen.” Then there are the flashy Dior shades she picked out, which were a style staple back in the late aughts.

But perhaps her most personal fashion story is about the Moschino skin dress. “This is my first like really expensive buy. I love this dress — and when I saw the price tag, I was like, I can’t do this! Like 50,000 rupees… and at that time, I had around fifty thousand or maybe forty-five thousand in my bank account. That’s when I realised I’m truly passionate about this stuff because I literally gave all the money away for this dress.”

Currently, Kangana admits she’s “totally into Valentino”. She showed off a new purchase from Paris, a pencil dress from Valentino Spring/Summer 2015, still with the tag. “I’m just looking for an occasion that can do justice to this beauty.”
