Porsche and Audi sell the cheapest V6-powered cars in the Indian market.
When it comes to V-engined cars, i.e. where the cylinders are evenly split across two banks and arranged in a 45-degree angle from each other, V6s rank at the bottom of the numerical hierarchy. Make no mistake, though, V6 engines often deliver exhilarating driving experiences thanks to the butter-smooth way they dole out power and the raspy note that accompanies it.
And if you just want to potter around the city, V6s can be quite docile, predictable, and surprisingly fuel-efficient. Not to mention, V6-powered cars also cost less than equivalent V8-equipped models, so you get nearly as many thrills with greater daily usability at a lower price. Given the numerous merits of this engine, we’ve put together a list of the cheapest V6 cars in India you can currently buy.
It should be noted that cars from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Land Rover aren’t part of these rankings since those carmakers use straight-six engines instead of V6 units.
5. Porsche Panamera
Price: Rs 1.80 crore
The priciest entry on this list is the Panamera – Porsche’s sole ICE-powered sedan. It comes equipped with a 2.9-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 churning out 353hp and 500Nm, hooked up to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that funnels that grunt to the rear wheels.

Notably, the Panamera has the highest top speed here at a claimed 272kph, and 0-100kph comes up in 5.3 seconds. If you opt for the Rs 2.14 lakh Sport Chrono Package, the Panamera’s 0-100kph time drops to 5.1 seconds.
4. Porsche Cayenne / Cayenne Coupe
Price: Rs 1.49 crore / Rs 1.55 crore
Porsche’s flagship SUV line-up comprises the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe, both of which are powered by a 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 generating 353hp and 500Nm, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission with AWD.

In our Cayenne review, we noted that its V6 isn’t the most thrilling engine, but it likes to stay in the upper bounds of the rev range and power delivery is strong and responsive. Both the Cayenne and Cayenne Coupe are claimed to reach 100kph from rest in a claimed 6 seconds (5.7 seconds with Sport Chrono Package). Top speed stands at a claimed 248kph.
3. Audi Q8
Price: Rs 1.18 crore
The first Audi on this list is the Q8, the German carmaker’s flagship SUV in India. Under the hood, the Q8 uses a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 that makes 340hp and 500Nm, with an 8-speed automatic and Quattro AWD.

2. Audi Q7
Price: Rs 92.29 lakh to Rs 1 crore
Audi’s venerable Q7 three-row SUV has been on sale in the Indian market for several years, and the current-gen model is powered by the same 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 as the Q8, though its power output is slightly lower at 340hp. The quickest car on this list, the S5 Sportback, also happens to be the most affordable. Audi sells the S5 Sportback with the same 3.0-litre turbo-petrol V6 as the Q7 and Q8, though with a higher output of 354hp. This V6 is paired with an 8-speed torque converter auto gearbox that channels power to all four wheels via the Quattro system.
