Nagpur: A speeding truck rammed into a vehicle parked for repairs near Kanhan Bridge on the Nagpur-Jabalpur Highway, killing one person and injuring two others. The incident occurred under the jurisdiction of the Navin Kamptee Police Station.The deceased was identified as Jassa Charan Singh. According to sources, Jassa, Mahesh Ghatole, and another worker were repairing a harvester that had developed a snag when a rashly driven truck collided with their vehicle, causing it to topple onto them.Jassa sustained serious injuries after being trapped under the harvester. He was rushed to the sub-district hospital in Kamptee, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.Ghatole (31), a resident of Mauda taluka, and the other worker injured in the accident are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.Following a complaint by Ghatole, police registered a case against the truck driver under Sections 106(1), 281, and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with Sections 134, 177, and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
