The Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) has postponed the recruitment examination that was scheduled for October 5. Chief Executive Officer G.S. Martolia told ANI that the decision was made following requests from candidates. “The new date for the examination will be announced later,” he added.

Earlier, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the recent UKSSSC exam paper leak incident, assuring that his government had acted promptly to ensure fairness and transparency in the recruitment process. According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), CM Dhami stated that the authorities arrested the accused and formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the entire examination process as soon as the matter came to light.

To address the concerns of the youth and counteract disruptive elements, Dhami met with students and assured them that a CBI probe would be conducted and all their legitimate demands would be fulfilled. He emphasised that the state government has enacted India’s strictest anti-cheating law to ensure transparency in recruitment processes and curb cheating mafias.

“As a result, more than 25,000 youths have secured government jobs over the last four years, a record. Over 100 members of the cheating mafia, who had turned cheating into an industry during previous governments, have been sent to jail under this law. All these steps have been taken to secure the future and interests of the youth,” he said.

In the paper leak case, police stated that the main accused, Khalid Malik, confessed during interrogation that he had hidden his mobile phone inside the exam centre a day before the test. He allegedly used the phone to take photos of three pages of the question paper and sent them to his sister from the washroom.

Meanwhile, UKSSSC Chairman Ganesh Singh Martolia said that there are around 10,000 to 12,000 government posts in total, and exams for nearly 4,500 to 5,000 posts have already been completed. The final results for these will be declared soon after document verification and physical tests.
