Without seasonal adjustment, the all items index increased by 2.9 per cent year on year (YoY) in the month after rising by 2.7 per cent YoY in July.
The index for energy rose by 0.7 per cent MoM in August after falling 1.1 per cent MoM in July. It increased by 0.2 per cent YoY in the month, a BLS release said.
