Uttarakhand police have arrested the main suspect in the UKSSSC exam paper leak. Authorities are probing how three pages were shared online despite jammers.

Uttarakhand police have arrested the main accused in the UKSSSC exam paper leak and the investigation is currently underway.
The Uttarakhand Police on Tuesday arrested Khalid Malik, the main accused in the alleged leak of three pages of the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UKSSSC) exam question paper. Khalid, who appeared as a candidate in the exam, was taken into custody from the Laksar area of Haridwar. His sister, Sabia (35), had been arrested earlier. Khalid had been absconding for three days, as reported by news agency PTI.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that those involved in exam malpractices would not be spared under any circumstances.
According to Haridwar SSP Pramod Singh Dobal, Khalid has been handed over to the Dehradun police for further investigation, as the case was registered there. Three pages of the question paper for the undergraduate-level examination held on Sunday had surfaced on social media.
Rishikesh SP Jaya Baluni said evidence shows that Khalid allegedly brought a device to the exam centre at Adarsh Bal Sadan Inter College, Bahadurpur Jat village, Pathri, photographed three pages of the paper, and sent them to his mobile phone, which was in Sabia’s possession.
Baluni added that Sabia then sent the questions to Suman, an assistant professor in Tehri, and received the answers to help Khalid cheat. “Considering her role, Sabia has been arrested,” she said. Investigators also found Khalid’s other sister, Hina, may have been involved, and the probe is ongoing.

A case has been registered against four named and other unidentified individuals under the Uttarakhand Competitive Examination (Prevention and Control of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Ordinance, 2023 at the Raipur police station in Dehradun.
Baluni said the exam centre was inspected on Monday, and officials including the principal, exam room inspector, and those who installed the jammers were questioned. Screenshots of the leaked pages went viral shortly after the exam began.
UKSSSC Chairman Ganesh Singh Martolia expressed shock over the leak, noting it occurred despite jammers being installed. Following public uproar, the commission filed a complaint with Dehradun police, who formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter.
