Jamia Millia Islamia has commenced the application process for its free UPSC coaching programme. Interested and eligible candidates may apply for the coaching until May 29. The last date to submit hard copies is May 30. The registration fee is Rs 1200.
Students must pass the entrance test to qualify for the coaching programme. The test will be conducted on June 15 from 10 am to 1 pm, consisting of two parts: general studies and essay papers. Results will be released on July 11. Successful candidates must complete their admission by August 10. Coaching will begin on September 9.
The institute’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA) offers free training to students from SC and ST communities, as well as women and other groups to prepare them for the Union Public Service Commission Civil Service Examination (UPSC CSE). It prepares for all three rounds — Prelims, Mains, and the personality test.

Jamia UPSC Entrance Exam Pattern
The entrance exam will consist of General Studies (objective type) and Essay Writing on UPSC model, reads the official notice. As per the marking scheme, there would be negative marking for objective-type questions in the test. One-third of the marks will be deducted for a wrong answer.
“Both the papers would be in English/Hindi/Urdu. The test is to· assess the candidate’s knowledge of general awareness, logical and critical thinking, reasoning, comprehension and the ability to express themselves in an organised and structured manner. The total duration of the examination would be three hours,” Jamia added in its official notice.
