Fashion resale is entering a new phase in which the scarce asset is no longer only inventory; it is attention and trust. TikTok Shop says ** per cent of year-to-date US luxury-resale revenue now comes through LIVE, while its broader luxury-resale gross merchandise value (GMV) is up *** per cent year on year. Yet TexPro customs data shows bulk used-clothing trade is not exploding. Together, the signals point to a two-speed market: a mature physical trade overlaid by a rapidly changing digital selling layer.
The ** per cent signal with an important boundary
TikTok Shop disclosed the ** per cent LIVE share and *** per cent GMV growth at its September **** Luxury Resale Summit in New York, according to Modern Retail. The numbers are platform-reported, and TikTok’s luxury-resale category is broader than apparel alone, so they should not be read as market-wide fashion statistics. But they reveal something strategically important: in high-consideration resale, live video is becoming a conversion engine.
