The actor, who often shared glimpses of his close-knit family on social media, honoured her memory with a series of photos and a heartfelt message that celebrated her life and legacy.

The photo carousel included rare and intimate moments — from a beautifully painted portrait of Nirmal Kapoor to candid family memories that captured her central presence in the Kapoor clan. The final image featured a touching family portrait with nearly all generations present — including Mohit Marwah (son of Anil’s sister Reema Kapoor), Anshula Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, and Jahaan Kapoor among others — all united to celebrate the birthday of Nirmal Kapoor.
In his emotional note, Anil wrote, “The love pouring in from all walks of life has been overwhelming. I truly don’t have the words to express how deeply grateful we are. My mother touched so many lives, not just directly but through the people she nurtured, supported, and loved. She was one of those remarkable women who never stood in the spotlight but whose strength held everyone together. A silent pillar, always smiling, always caring, always bringing warmth to those around her. She was the glue that kept our family close, from our children to our grandchildren, and even our extended family and friends. Her love reached far and wide, and it’s clear from the outpouring of messages and affection that she made a lasting impact on so many hearts. A heartfelt thank you to everyone, especially from the film fraternity, for your kind words, prayers, and love. We’re truly humbled and grateful.”
Nirmal Kapoor passed away on May 2 at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Ambani Hospital. Her last rites were held the same day in Mumbai and were attended by numerous friends, family members, and colleagues from the Hindi film industry, who came together to support the Kapoors in their time of grief. Her presence, though quiet and dignified, will be missed not just by her family, but by all those who knew her and admired her strength.
