Dubai Airports has announced three senior leadership appointments aimed at strengthening its operational, technology and national talent capabilities as it prepares for the next phase of growth across Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC).The appointments include the promotion of Kan Ni from Vice President, Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), to Senior Vice President, Airport Operations, and Khalid Ishaq from Head of AOCC Integration to Vice President, AOCC. Ahmad Al Bastaki has also joined the organisation as Vice President, Technology Operations and Cybersecurity within the Business Technology division.According to Dubai Airports, the appointments reflect its continued investment in leadership capabilities required to support the expansion of Dubai’s aviation sector while enhancing operational resilience and digital transformation.Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer, Dubai Airports, said, “Our ability to deliver safely, efficiently and at scale depends on the strength of our people, the resilience of our systems and the way we work together as one airport community. These appointments reinforce the leadership capability we need for the future, combining specialist technology expertise, deep operational experience and strong Emirati talent in areas that are increasingly central to airport performance and resilience.”Kan Ni has played a key role in developing the Airport Operations Control Centre into a platform for coordinated, data-driven decision-making across DXB. The airport said his leadership was instrumental during recent regional airspace disruptions, when the AOCC coordinated operations across the aviation network to maintain safe and efficient passenger movement.The promotion of Khalid Ishaq further strengthens the AOCC, which serves as the airport’s real-time operational control centre and coordinates the daily movement of around 200,000 passengers through DXB. Having joined Dubai Airports in 2005, Ishaq has held several operational roles over the past two decades. His appointment also supports the organisation’s focus on developing Emirati leadership, with nationals representing 75 per cent of its management team under initiatives such as Nafis and the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.Ahmad Al Bastaki will lead technology operations, cybersecurity, service management and infrastructure operations, reinforcing Dubai Airports’ focus on technology-enabled airport management.The appointments support Dubai Airports’ ongoing strategy to enhance operational excellence, passenger experience, digital capabilities and future airport capacity as it continues to prepare for long-term growth.
