Royal Enfield Meteor 350 or Goan Classic: Which is better for daily use?

Royal Enfield Meteor 350 or Goan Classic: Which is better for daily use?

The Meteor and Goan Classic have many mechanical similarities but very different intended purposes.

Hello, I’m confused between the Goan Classic 350 and the Meteor 350. I’m 5 feet 6 inches tall and my main requirements are daily commuting, like going to college and running errands, with occasional long rides. Which one would be a better choice? My budget is Rs 2.80 lakh (on-road).

Autocar India says: Both the Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350 and Meteor 350 are more lifestyle-oriented products on the company’s J-platform engine, although the former is firmly in that category while the latter is a little more flexible. While the Goan Classic has the lower seat height and would be more manageable for a shorter rider such as yourself, we would actually recommend going for the Meteor between these two bikes. That’s because the Meteor has the more natural riding position (although it still isn’t completely neutral) and its Rs 2.08 lakh starting price is significantly lower than the Goan Classic’s.

Alternatively, we would also suggest that you take a close look at the updated Hunter 350 as that bike will also fit the bill for your intended usage and the Hunter is quite a bit lighter and its price tag also starts well below the Rs 2 lakh mark. The 2025 Hunter does seem to address one of the model’s biggest shortcomings – stiff ride quality – with new rear suspension and we will be testing this machine soon, so keep an eye out for the review.
