Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho, who was left out of the playing eleven in the side’s UEFA Europa League defeat to Tottenham Hotspurs on Thursday, threw his future at the Mancunian club into doubt following the snub.
The 20-year-old, who started every knockout game in the second-tier continental competition up until the final, was benched in favour of Mason Mount before being called up for the final 20 minutes of United’s slender 1-0 defeat at the hands of fellow Premier League strugglers.
“Until we reached the final, I played every round. And I played 20 minutes today… I don’t know,” Garnacho said.
“We didn’t beat anyone in the league. We lacked a lot of things. When you don’t score goals, you always need more,” the Argentine added.

Ganacho revealed that Ruben Amorim’s decision to leave his out of the starting team for the summit clash would have a bearing on his decision regarding his future with the club, but added that he was in no hurry to rush to a conclusion.
“The final will influence my decision, but the whole season, the situation of the club will too,” he added.
“I’m going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards,” Garnacho stated.

United boss Amorim, however, defended his team selection as he shed light on Mount coming off the bench to net a brace in the side’s UEL semifinal against Athletic Bilbao. He also touched up on the fact that Garnacho missed a sitter in the very same final four tie.
“How many times have we had this conversation, and it was the opposite? Some players come in, like Mason Mount, against Bilbao and changed the game,” Amorim recalled.
“Who missed the big opportunity in the first half against Bilbao? Yeah, Garnacho. Of course, now it is easy for us to talk about a lot of views,” the Poruguese boss added.
United are in line to experience their worst ever finish in the Premier League as the Red Devils stand 16th in the league with jus 39 points to their name this season, and will conclude the season without a trophy.
