Akshay Kumar, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Tarun Mansukhani attended the trailer launch of their comedy Housefull 5 at a multiplex in Mumbai. As expected, the media asked Akshay Kumar about the Hera Pheri 3 row. Bollywood Hungama broke the news earlier in the day that the film will play with two different endings. Sajid Nadiadwala was asked about it and he confirmed this aspect.
Housefull 5 trailer launch: Sajid Nadiadwala confirms two ending reports: “In Gaiety, you’ll see a character playing a killer but in Galaxy, culprit will be somebody else; happening in the world for the FIRST time”
Sajid Nadiadwala said, “I have been thinking about it for the last 30 years that if I make a thriller, what would be the X factor? How would people leave the theatre? I have written such a story that every theatre will have a different killer.”
He explained, “So, if you see at Gaiety, you’ll see a character playing a killer but in Galaxy, the culprit will be somebody else. In PVR Audi 4, you’ll have one killer but in PVR Audi 5, you’ll see a version with a different killer. Even in the same audi, different show timings will have different actors playing the killer. This is happening in the world for the first time.”
Fardeen Khan added, “This was narrated to us after we shot it.”
Sajid Nadiadwala continued, “I don’t think half the people in the star cast know who the killer is!”
When asked how many versions and murderers are there, Sajid Nadiadwala said, “There are two killers (and two versions).”
Later, the dashing producer called distributor Sanjay Chatar of Pen Marudhar. Sajid stated, “It’s very difficult to release this film; distributors ki life barbaad hone waali hai in deciding which theatre will have which climax!”
He praised Sanjay and said, “He has to do in Singapore, America, the UK, etc. The laws are different there. Wahan ke censor boards ko pata nahin tha. Our censor board also took one month how to censor it!”
Housefull 5 releases in cinemas on June 6.
